Getting client’s passing school bus charge dismissed in Roswell. I appeared with my client in Roswell Municipal Court to fight her passing school bus charge. She was on her way to work and did not see the stopped school bus. After negotiation with the prosecutor, I was able to get her charge dismissed. The Department of Georgia Drivers Services will not be made aware of this issue. Every day, local law enforcement officers in and around school zones protect our children. They vigorously look for offenders passing school buses that are loading or unloading passengers. A stopped school bus is a safety zone for children getting on or off of the bus. If you pass the bus, you are driving through a child’s safety zone, and you will get a ticket. Law Enforcement Officials vigorously enforce the law in and around school zones and school buses. Don’t endanger our children! Obey the law and stop immediately when you see the red lights flashing! www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comI appeared with my client in Roswell Municipal Court to fight her passing school bus charge. Don’t be a fool in April, don’t drive distracted! I recently received a call from a potential client who was ticketed for distracted driving while stopped at a traffic light and looking at his GPS. This particular potential client was stopped at a traffic light looking for an alternative route. So, he consulted the GPS on his mobile device, and when the light turned green he did not notice the green light and held up traffic. He was issued a ticket for obstruction of traffic and distracted driving, after being observed by an officer. Advice, be alert and concentrate 100% of your attention on the roadway ahead! Do not become a distracted driver! Distracted driving kills! www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comI recently received a call from a potential client who was ticketed for distracted driving while stopped at a traffic light and looking at his GPS.

Following negotiation with the prosecutor, I was able to get his speed reduced to 14 mph over the limit. This issue will remain in Sandy Springs and not go forward to the Georgia Department of driver services. This is a big win for my client, because he has previous history and already has points on his driving record. His insurance company will not be informed about this issue. Fighting UGA student's speeding in Duluth, GA. Court On Tuesday, March 22, 2018, I appeared for my client in the Duluth Municipal Court. My client who is under 21 years of age, is a full-time student at the University of Georgia. She was not able to attend court. My client was charged with speeding, traveling 67 mph in a 45 mph zone. This is a super speeder ticket because it is 22 mph over the limit. If my client was found guilty for this charge, she would have 3 points added to her Georgia driving record. Following negotiations with the prosecutor, I was able to get the court to reduce the speed to 14 mph over the limit. At 14 MPH over the limit makes her ticket a simple speeding ticket. My client will be required to attend defensive driving school and a special defensive driving class given by the City of Duluth. This must be completed by 6/18/18, and she is also required to pay a fine of $214. After this is completed, her charge will not be reported to the Georgia Department of driver services. Her insurance company will not find out about this issue.
