Always be polite when stopped by a law-enforcement officer. When you see blue lights in your rearview mirror, you realize, this may not not be a good day. However, this may be the day you get off with a warning. If you are polite to the law-enforcement officer that stopped you, you may get off with a warning ticket. The police officer may have some discretion and if your speed was only a few miles over the speed limit he may simply give you a warning ticket. However, if you are belligerent and argue with the officer, your chances of getting a traffic ticket, will go up. Remember, you will see this officer again in court. If you were argumentative and belligerent, it will be noted on the report that is given to the judge. When you see blue lights in your rearview mirror, you realize, this may not not be a good day. Look twice save a life. Motorcycles are everywhere. With the increased number of cars on the road and the increased number of motorcycles on the road, inevitably collisions will occur between cars and motorcycles. Unfortunately, and very often, the the motorcycle rider loses his or her life. Motorcycles offer no protection against impact during a collision. What may be a simple dent on the fender for a car, would be at least a broken bone or worst for the motorcycle rider. Motorcyclist face the greatest danger from a car turning left at an intersection. The driver of the car looks left and then concentrate looking right for a place to merge with traffic. Motorcycles are difficult to see, and the driver of the left turning vehicle may not see it at all. So, look twice to the left before making your turn into traffic. Look to the left and then look right and look left again, before proceeding across the intersection or merging into traffic. This traffic tip may save the life of a motorcyclist. With the increased number of cars on the road and the increased number of motorcycles on the road, inevitably collisions will occur between cars and motorcycles.

DUI and Child Endangerment charge. I was contacted by a potential client who was charged with a DUI. She was also charged with child endangerment and failure to maintain lane. This person who had been drinking was stopped for a lane violation. The officer administered a roadside sobriety test and placed her under arrest for DUI. Unfortunately she had her 12-year-old daughter with her at the time. The driver was also charged with endangerment of a minor and lastly failure to maintain lane. This complex case covers three areas of the law. The first and most serious is DUI Child endangerment. The lesser charge is failure to maintain lane. The courts in Georgia consider alcohol and drug related DUI with young children in the vehicle, a very serious offense. Instead of facing one DUI charge an additional charge for for DUI is made against the driver because there is a young child in the vehicle. If you are facing a DUI child endangerment charge, you should have an expert DUI defense attorney defend you in court.I was contacted by a potential client who was charged with a DUI. Fighting client's drug charge in Milton, GA. On March 6, 2017, I appeared in Milton City Court to fight my client's a marijuana possession charge. Prior to this appearance in court, I had negotiated successfully with the prosecutor for a diversion/dismissal of this case. The diversion/dismissal could be accomplished by my client completing certain steps that were ordered by the court. If the steps are accomplished, then the court agreed not to prosecute. One of the steps for my client was to pass a random drug screen when appearing in court. Unfortunately, my client failed the drug screen and the test showed marijuana use. Fortunately, after considerable conversation and negotiation, I got the prosecutor to agree to allow my client sufficient time to pass the next drug screen. The Judge agreed to the reset and no additional penalties were given to my client. On March 6, 2017, I appeared in Milton City Court to fight my client's a marijuana possession charge.

On march 8, 2017, I appeared in Fulton State Court to defend my client against a theft by taking charge. After negotiations and discussion with the prosecutor, and because of the fact that my client has no prior history, I got the prosecutor to agree to a dismissal for my client. However, the prosecutor needs more time for do diligence and to review my client's file. So, his case has been reset for April. Fighting client's probation violation in Gwinnett County. On February 23, 2017, I met with my client who was in custody in a holding cell in Gwinnett County. My client had been charged with probation violation. He had previously entered a first offender plea on a drug possession case. Early on, my client failed to attend his drug treatment program. After negotiations, I convince the court that it would be in my client's best interest, if he would be allowed to enter the drug treatment program named drug court. I got the court to reinstate his probation sentence and to modify it, to allow him to enter the drug court rehabilitation program.Fighting client's probation violation in Gwinnett County. Every accident caused by a drunk driver is preventable! If the driver hadn't been drinking more then likely the accident would not have happened. The number of deaths caused by drunk driving increases every year in the USA. Pease consider using a breathalyzer test before taking the wheel. Breathalyzers are available on line. A locking device that prevents a car from being started after failing a breathalyzer test is on the market. Every year thousands of our families and our friends are maimed or killed by drunk drivers. Do not drink and drive. If going to a club or party where alcohol is being served is on your agenda, please have designated driver go with you. If you are alone remember that it takes one hour for our body to metabolize one hour of alcohol after consumption. This means that if you have consumed two beers or two wines, it will more than likely be two hours before it is cleared from your system. If you drive before the alcohol is cleared, you may be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. The number of deaths caused by drunk driving increases every year in the USA.
