Fighting client's speeding ticket in Cumming, GA. On January 27, 2017, I appeared with my client in Cumming City Court, to defend her against a high speed traffic ticket. My client was clocked at 80 miles an hour in a 55 mph zone. Following discussions with the prosecutor, I got her speed reduced to 14 mph over the limit, and subsequently got the ticket dismissed. My client had to pay the court fee of $150, however there are no points added to her drivers record. Had she simply paid the ticket and pleaded guilty she would've had an additional four points added to her drivers record. On January 27, 2017, I appeared with my client in Cumming City Court, to defend her against a high speed traffic ticket.

Driving with expired registration in Georgia Today, February 2, 2017, I received three calls from prospective clients all charged with, operating a vehicle with expired registration. It is unlawful in the state of Georgia to operate a motor vehicle on any road or highway without the vehicle being properly registered. The penalty for operating and unregistered vehicle can be a misdemeanor for which you may go to jail. The fine for operating an unregistered vehicle can be from hundreds to thousands of dollars. Clients tell me many reasons why their vehicle was unregistered. The most common reason is the lack of funds to pay for the registration. If you are stopped with an unregistered car, the cost of the registration will seems minor compared to the cost of dealing with the traffic ticket. Charged with hit-and-run in Alpharetta? Today I received a call from a person charged with a hit and run. Frequently, a driver hits another car in a parking lot and there is very little or no damage to either vehicle. If the driver of the vehicle can't find the owner of the other vehicle, they sometimes simply drive away. The law requires that the driver, make a concerted effort to locate the owner of the vehicle that has been hit. If the owner of the other vehicle cannot be located, the driver of the other car is required to leave his or her identifying information and contact number, in a place that is prominent. Often, this second part is ignored. If you simply drive away and you are later found, you can be charged with the criminal misdemeanor of hit and run, and you may will be arrested. Driving your parents car that has an expired registration. January 31, 2017, I received three different calls today from perspective clients, who were charged with driving a vehicle with an expired registration. Two of the three drivers were driving cars that did not belong to them. I frequently get calls from people ticketed for driving their parents unregistered car or their friends or siblings unregistered car. Regardless of whom the owner of a vehicle is, it is the driver's responsibility to make sure that the vehicle being driven has a current and up to date registration and insurance coverage. If you fail to do this, you may be ticketed and taken to jail. Stop at all railroad crossings! Look and listen both ways with windows open, before proceeding across the tracks! Surprisingly, I often read about people who's vehicle has been struck by a train. Almost always, the driver of the vehicle is ticketed and must go to court. When alcohol is involved, the driver of the vehicle goes to jail.Stop at all railroad crossings!
