On October 4, 2016, I appeared in John's Creek Municipal Court accompanied by my 19 year old client and his parents. My client was charged with passing a loading or unloading school bus. After negotiations with the solicitor, we reached an agreement which resulted in my client having a six-month pretrial diversion. On September 28, 2016, I appeared in Alpharetta Municipal court to defend my client against a DUI charge. My client has a commercial drivers license and drives a truck for work. After negotiations with the prosecutor, I had this case bound over to Fulton State Court. This will allow more time for discovery, and delay the resolution in this case. Delaying the resolution is a tactic that can often be helpful. It allows a client to continue to work without having his or her license suspended. My client, who was charged with driving 102 miles an hour in a 65 mph speed zone, is 17 years old. Following negotiations with the prosecutor, I got to court to agree to reduce the speed to 19 mph over the limit and reduce the points added to his drivers license to two. This is dependent upon my client completing an approved safe driving class and completing several hours of community service. 9/22/16 fighting client's loitering charge in Sandy Springs On 9/22/16, I accompanied my client to the Sandy Springs City Court. I was there to defend him against a loitering charge. Their were two other co-defendants charged with my client, and each co-defendant had their own separate attorney representing them that day. This particular case was set for a bench trial. We convinced the prosecutor to dismiss the charges because, the states primary witness was not present.On 9/22/16, I accompanied my client to the Sandy Springs City Court. I was there to defend him against a loitering charge.
