Fighting client's speeding ticket in Marietta. I was contacted today by a client seeking help with a speed ticket in Marietta. After speaking with her she hired me to defend her. My client is charged with traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph construction zone. Typically, if my client has been a safe driver, accident free, has not received any traffic tickets, or has received very few traffic tickets, and it's not a habitual violator, it has been my experience that I can get the prosecutor to dismiss the charge. Because, this is my client's first traffic ticket in 10 years, I feel confident that I can get this speeding ticket either reduced or dismissed. 770-408-1001 www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comI was contacted today by a client seeking help with a speed ticket in Marietta. Don't speed on Georgia 400, you'll get a ticketed I received a call today from a potential client with a super speeder ticket on Georgia 400. After speaking with him by phone, he hired me to defend him against the charge. In the past, I have been successful when negotiating with prosecutors to reduce the speed of my clients to 14 mph over the limit. After this is done, I can usually get the prosecutor to dismiss the charge. Georgia 400 is a very busy highway. The speed limit on that highway is 65 mph. I have not received a call from a prospective client who said, that he or she received a speeding ticket for going 5 to 10 mph over the limit. This indicates to me, at least, that there may be a buffer zone of 5 to 8 mph, that one conceivably could drive over the limit with less danger of getting a speeding ticket. The Georgia law is quite clear however, if one drives only 1 or 2 mph over the limit, that person is breaking the law, and can be ticketed. We here at the Alpharetta law office of Attorney Scott Miller encourage everyone to obey the law and drive with caution at all times. When driving, it is wise to plan your route well in advance of your trip, leave early allowing extra time, and always drive with caution. 770-408-1001 www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comI received a call today from a potential client with a super speeder ticket on Georgia 400. Getting client's probation violation dismissed in Alpharetta, GA. Today, I received a call from a potential client who hired me to fight his probation violation charge in Alpharetta, and a diffrent charge in Roswell. This particular client received a probated sentence for violating Georgia's controlled substance act in Alpharetta, Georgia. He was stopped recently for speeding in Roswell and, he was arrested for marijuana possession. My client who is now back in jail has two problems. First, he violated his original probation, and secondly, he has a new charge of misdemeanor marijuana possession of less than 1 ounce. Each of these two items will be addressed separately. One in Sandy Springs and the other in Alpharetta. This particular type of problem requires an experienced probation violation defense attorney to get the best results. I am hopeful that I will be able to negotiate a settlement, in both courts, that will be beneficial to my client. I got a call today from a potential client about a failure to appear in North Carolina. He was visiting his family North Carolina when he received the speeding ticket. After returning to Georgia he did not go back to North Carolina to appear in court. Later he received a letter from the North Carolina Court which informed him that he had failed to appear. The state of Georgia participates in the non-resident violation compact, which is an agreement between states that provide information about failures to appear. My client faces drivers license suspension here in Georgia. This particular issue is a complex issue, and it is best handled by a drivers license suspension defense attorney. I just received a call from a potential client who hired me to defend him against a following to close accident. He told me, that he had been following the traffic in front of him when the driver in front, stopped his vehicle suddenly. and a collision occurred. This particular type of accident happens by the hundreds in metro Atlanta every day. The Georgia law requires that you as the driver of a vehicle you must maintain sufficient distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front, to allow for a safe stop. In metro Atlanta, the traffic is so heavy, there seems there is never be enough room in front of you, to stop safely. In addition, if you slow your vehicle enough to allow sufficient room to drive safely, inevitably some other driver will pull into the safe space you created. I have been very successful negotiating with prosecutors and before the judge with the above line of reasoning, and I almost always get this particular charge dismissed. Attorney Scott Miller 770-408-1001 www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comWhat to do when charged with following to close? You should hire an experienced traffic ticket attorney to represent you.

Fighting client's uninsured vehicle charge in Roswell I appeared in Roswell City Count with my client to fight his ticket for driving an uninsured vehicle. A conviction for driving an uninsured vehicle in Georgia is a criminal misdemeanor. The conviction carries with it a fine of not less than $500, a drivers license suspension for 60 days, and possible jail time. It is wise to check the expiration date on your proof of insurance card often, and pay for the new insurance policy as soon as it arrives. At my client's court appearance, I presented evidence that the insurance has been reinstated. Then, following negotiations with the prosecutor, I was able to get his charge dismissed.I appeared in Roswell City Count with my client to fight his ticket for driving an uninsured vehicle.
