20,000 Georgia teens need to take road test. The Georgia Department of Driver Services announced that the 20,000 teens who acquired their drivers license without an over the road test, will need to complete this test by September 30, 2020, in order to keep their license. Governor Georgia Brian Kemp issued an executive order on May 12, that will require anyone who receives their license without taking the on the road test, must complete it shortly. The order also allows for the Department of driver services to complete this test by “remote” means if necessary. Getting my client’s super speeder ticket reduced: My client and I appeared in the Alpharetta Municipal Court. She had been charged with a super speeder ticket. The speed limit on GA-400 is 65 mph. My client was clocked at 85 mph which is 20 mph over the limit. Following considerable negotiation with the prosecutor, I was able to get her speed reduced to 79 mph, which is 14 mph over. Georgia teens allowed drivers license without road test. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Georgia teens will be temporarily allowed to get a drivers license without completing the required road test. This temporary order was issued by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. If we look closer, these teenage drivers have already passed the written portion of the test, and have used their student drivers license to learn to drive. This is a temporary order, and once it is safe for new drivers to be accompanied by a state official, it is likely that this order will be lifted.
