Working with DUI client's in Alpharetta Municipal Court. I frequently defend client's against DUI charges in the Alpharetta Municipal Court. Getting stopped for DUI is the beginning of a humiliating event, and your troubles are just beginning. In all likelihood, you will be placed in handcuffs, arrested, and taken to jail. Your vehicle will be impounded and inventoried. Any contraband material found in your vehicle will cause additional charges to be made against you. You will have to arrange bail, and you will have 10 days from the date of your arrest to save your driving privileges. Your first step should be to select a local DUI defense attorney to represent you. Hiring someone who regularly defends DUI clients in the local court is best. It is possible that a skilled DUI defense attorney could get your DUI charge reduced to reckless driving. In all likelihood you will have to attend a DUI school and perform many hours of community service. This would be a big win however, because a reckless driving conviction is not a DUI conviction, that will follow you the rest of your life. www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comWorking with DUI client's in Alpharetta Municipal Court. Don’t act like a fool in April, drive sober! I represented my client in Alpharetta Municipal court for a DUI. His vehicle had been stopped for failure to maintain lane and speeding. After failing a roadside sobriety test, my client was arrested for DUI. The DUI charge then became the most serious charge and the other charges become the lesser charges. After significant negotiations with the prosecutor, I was able to get his DUI charge reduced to reckless driving. I was also able to get the speeding and failure to maintain charges dismissed. My client, who plead to reckless driving, will be required to attend driving school and substance-abuse classes. After these requirements are completed “the hold and clear” “which means” an earned dismissal will be completed This is another very happy client of the Alpharetta, Georgia DUI defense attorney Scott Miller. www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comI represented my client in Alpharetta Municipal court for a DUI.

Don’t be a fool in April, don’t drink and drive. I appeared with my client in Milton, GA., Municipal Court to fight his DUI traffic ticket. This client was stopped for a failure to maintain lane violation, and then he was arrested and charged with DUI. The DUI becomes the most significant charge, because jail time is a real possibility, and losing his driving privileges is a possibility. Following considerable negotiation with the prosecutor, I got the court to agree to drop the failure to maintain lane charge, and reduce the DUI charge to reckless driving. My client must attend an alcohol and substance abuse class and perform multiple hours of community service. This is a very good outcome for this client, because he will not have a DUI conviction on his permanent record. Following lengthy negotiation with the prosecutor, I was able to get my client’s charge reduced to reckless driving. This is an important victory for my client, because he will not have a DUI conviction on his record. Getting client's DUI reduced in Fulton state court. On Thursday, March 8, 2018, I appeared with my client in Fulton State Court. He had been arrested for speeding and DUI. Following negotiations with the prosecutor, I convinced the court to reduce the DUI charge to reckless driving, and to reduce the speed to 79 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. My client will be on probation for 12 months, but he can terminate early by paying a $400 fine, attending a defensive driving class, and serving 40 hours of community service. This is a big win for him, and he is another happy client of the Alpharetta, Georgia DUI defense attorney Scott Miller. 770-408-1001 www.lawofficeofscottmiller.comOn Thursday, March 8, 2018, I appeared with my client in Fulton State Court. On Monday, November 13, at 1:00 PM, I appeared with my client in Milton City Court to defend him against a DUI charge. My client was involved in an accident which was not his fault. His car was T-bones by a speeding driver, and although my client was not at fault he was arrested for DUI. Based on the circumstances of the accident and my client’s low blood alcohol level, I believed that his charge should be reduced to reckless driving. On Monday, November 13, at 1:00 PM, I appeared with my client in Milton City Court to defend him against a DUI charge.

Fighting a Super Bowl DUI for my client in Alpharetta. This morning, February 5, 2018, I received a call from a previous client who had been charged last night with DUI. He told me that he’d had a few drinks at a Super Bowl party, and he was stopped on his way home Fortunate for my client, this was his first in a lifetime DUI charge. He is also fortunate, that the the court is one of the ones that I have been regularly appearing in for the past 12+ years. Often, with a first in a lifetime DUI client, I can get the DUI charge reduced to reckless driving. The benefit of getting the charge reduced to reckless driving, is that my client would not have a DUI charge on his record. Fighting California client’s DUI charge in Georgia. On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, I appeared on behalf of my client to enter a DUI plea in absentia. My client lives in California and was unable to return to Georgia for this case. This is his first in a lifetime DUI charge. However, because my client was unable to complete the court’s requirements to have his charge reduced to a lesser charge in a timely manner, I was able to negotiate the minimal penalty possible for a DUI. My client was very happy with this outcome and please that he did not have to return to Georgia in person. On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, I appeared on behalf of my client to enter a DUI plea in absentia.

Defending client against aggravated stalking in Gwinnett Co. On October 12, 2017, I appeared with my client in Gwinnett Superior Court for a bond hearing. My client had been charged with violation of a restraining order, “aggravated stalking.” Following negotiations with the court and based on the circumstances involved in this case, I got the district attorney to agree to a reasonable bond. The bond was posted within 24 hours. This result allowed my client to leave jail and continue to work, while I plan and negotiate for his defense. Fighting DUI for under 21 year old client in Fulton Co. Court I appeared with my client in Fulton County Court to defend him against a DUI, driving less safe charge. This particular case is made more difficult, because my client is under 21 years of age. Following discussions with the court, I move for the court to dismiss the charges against my client based on the failure of the prosecution to provide the video of the arrest. I knew for full well that this was the first jury trial calendar, and the judge would probably deny the dismissal, which he did. The judge reset the case for another jury trial in March. This gives me a additional time to work on my client’s defense, however if the prosecution fails to provide the video a second time, then I can get my client’s charge dismissed.
