The 1st week of school brings 2 clients with school bus violation's. Georgia law requires that a vehicle must stop for a school bus loading and unloading children. Many clients tell me they did not see the school bus because of other stopped traffic. During the school year, drivers should assume that any stopped and congested traffic may be the result of a stopped school bus. It is always best to wait until the traffic has cleared before you proceed. This is especially true in school zone areas. If you have been issued a passing school bus ticket, contact the Alpharetta, Georgia school zone traffic ticket defense attorney Scott Miller, for a free consultation. www.lawofficeofscottmiller.com1st week of school brings 2 clients with school bus tickets. The Georgia law is clear, any vehicle must come to a stop when encountering a school bus that is loading or unloading passengers. Traffic on both sides of the roadway must come to a stop, unless the roadway is separated by a barrier. It is the responsibility of any driver to maintain sufficient distance between his or her vehicle and the vehicle in front, so that if the vehicle in front slows or stops a collision is avoided. In almost every case if you rear end a vehicle you are at fault and will be charged with following too close. A vehicular accident can lead to additional charges if either of the drivers were using alcohol, recreational drugs, or have a contraband items in their vehicle. A rear end accident will lead to a charge of following too closely, and possibly more serious charges. The posted speed limit in a state is the absolute maximum speed you can drive without the risk of being ticketed. In reality however, most law-enforcement officers may allow you to drive slightly over the speed limit, depending on road conditions. Fighting my client's super speeder ticket in Cobb State Court. On April 20, 2015, I appeared in Cobb State Court accompanied by my client He had been charged with a super speeder traffic ticket. Prior to going to court, I had my client, complete a defensive driving class. After negotiations, I got the prosecutor to reduce the speed to the level of a no reporting incident. My client had to pay the minimum fine, and there will be no reporting of this incident to the state of Georgia. On April 16, 2015, I appeared with my client in the John's Creek Municipal Court. My client had been charged with DUI. While negotiating with the prosecutor, I brought up the fact that the prosecutor had not seen the video of my client's arrest, and that I believed, that after he saw the video he might agree with my conclusions. With that in mind, I had the arraignment reset for a later date.
