Getting my clients speeding ticket dismissed in Alpharetta, GA. On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, I appeared with my client in the Alpharetta Municipal Court. My client had been charged with a super speeder ticket. After considerable discussion discussion with the prosecutor, I was able to get his speed Reduced to 14 mph over the limit. I was then able to get his ticket dismissed. There will be no record of this issue with the Georgia Department of driver services. My clients insurance company will not be able to find out about this issue. I got my client’s unregistered vehicle charge dismissed. I appeared with my client in the Alpharetta Municipal Court, to defend him against the charge of driving an unregistered vehicle. Georgia code 40 – 2–8 requires that any person owning or operating a motor vehicle on any Georgia public highway or street must have proper current vehicle registration. Failure to have current and proper vehicle registration is a violation of Georgia code 40–2–8. Anyone found guilty of violating this code, is guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of $190. On Monday, September 24, 2018, I appeared with my 18 year old client and his parents in the Milton Municipal Court. My client had been charged with possession of marijuana, less than 1 ounce. This is a violation of GA criminal code 16-13–30. This code covers purchase, possession, and manufacture of a controlled substance. Possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana is a misdemeanor under code 16-13-2(B). It can be punished by a term of incarceration for not more than 12 months, or a fine not to exceed $1000, or both. Getting client following to close charge dismissed, Fulton State Court. On Monday, September 24, I appeared with my client in Fulton State Court. My client had been charged with a following too close accident. A following to close accident is a rear end collision as defined by Georgia Code 40-6-49. The GA code 40-6-49 states “that the driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicles and the traffic upon, and the conditions of the highway." I had previously appeared with my client in the Atlanta Municipal Court to defend my client against this charge. However, I had this case bound over to the Fulton State Court in an attempt to obtain a better outcome for my client. I am happy to report that, I got the following too close charge dismissed, and my client plead guilty to a basic rules violation and paid a fine of $100. The basic rules violation is not reported to the Georgia Department of driver services and there are no points added to his drivers record.On Monday, September 24, I appeared with my client in Fulton State Court.
