Getting my client’s charge of battery dismissed in Fulton: In December, I appeared in Fulton County Magistrate Court to defend my client charged with simple battery. Georgia code 16-5-23 describes battery as making physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the intention of causing physical harm to another person. Simple battery is a criminal misdemeanor, and it can carry penalties of up to one year in prison and fines reaching $1000, including probation and restitution to the victim. Following considerable negotiation with the prosecutor, I got my client’s charge dismissed. Fighting client's disorderly conduct charge in Alpharetta. On August 16, 2017, I appeared with my client in the Alpharetta Municipal court. My client had been charged with a disorderly conduct ordinance violation. My client was alleged to have threatened a friend, however this was an April fools joke, (prank gone bad). The alleged victim wanted jail time for my client, but following negotiations with the prosecutor, I was able to convince the court that there would be no jail time for my client and this would not appear on her record. My client was extremely happy with the outcome. Don't fall for fishing scams by criminals! My client recently received an email stating that his PayPal account needed some attention. These unsolicited and fraudulent emails are sent to thousands of email addresses. The crooks hope that they can entice many victims to provide sensitive information about their accounts. Once the criminals are in possession of your passwords and your account numbers they can steal your money and your sensitive account information. These emails look harmless at first glance. They may be from a friend who's computer they have hacked and taken control of. If you receive a strange email from a friend, beware of opening any attachments or providing any of your information. It is best to contact your friend my phone to verify this email. These emails are sent to thousands of email addresses.
