Getting my client’s charge of battery dismissed in Fulton:

In December, I appeared in Fulton County Magistrate Court to defend my client charged with simple battery.

Georgia code 16-5-23 describes battery as making physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the intention of causing physical harm to another person.
Simple battery is a criminal misdemeanor, and it can carry penalties of up to one year in prison and fines reaching $1000, including probation and restitution to the victim.

Following considerable negotiation with the prosecutor, I got my client’s charge dismissed.

My client is very grateful and happy to be another client of the Alpharetta, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, criminal defense attorney Scott Miller.
